Faith
Initial Overview:
Dean thinks he's going to die (a relation to 11): Sam does not hesitate to sacrifice one for one. Dean does not think he deserves to live period, much less be sacrificed for. Rare moment of him caring about the Natural Order of death, but of course this rule stops mattering when it comes to Sam. John doesn't call ♥
Notes:
Sam is a believer in God. Dean is not.
"Sam, get off me!" Sam does not.
"I didn't pick you, Dean, the Lord did." Mention of an important job.
Get your hands off your brother, boy
Layla: Compare to Lori for Sam. Although Layla has made her peace with death, her mother has not and will not.
Sam didn't know about the cost for Dean's life but isn't particularly sorry about it, either.
Sam wouldn't kill a human, but is okay with the exchange for Dean
Healer's wife made same sacrifice for selfish reasons. Unfortunately she's an evangelist
Dean is forced to kill Layla (however indirectly). Layla is ok with consequences for her healing because she is worried about her mom. Came to talk to Dean, BLIND FAITH, bad things happen for a reason
(This is written down but I'm not sure what it's referring to) ↑ gets Dean to believe in John
Dean! You guessed it-- altercation with the cops.
You can really tell Dean doesn't think he deserves to live → doesn't run away from reaper, offers his life for Layla's
Dean characterizes preacher's wife as desperate, preacher as good man
Sam keeps saying that they can't let randoms die for other randoms.
